From the outside, writing can seem like a solitary art. But writers know conversation and collaboration is the heart of our work. Whether your manuscript or story is still in progress or it is almost ready to send to agents, presses, or journals, I would love to help you bring it into the world.

Developmental Feedback without Line Edits ($.05/word)
Do you have a finished manuscript or a longer manuscript-in-progress? With this option, we work together to hone craft elements like character, plot, and story arc to make your manuscript the best it can be.
After a careful read of your manuscript, I’ll send you in-line comments and a detailed editorial letter with big-picture feedback. After you receive my written feedback, we will schedule a call or Zoom for discussion and questions.
In most cases, I can provide multiple passes if needed. Sequential passes will have a lower rate.
Line Editing ($.06/word)
Have you figured out the big-picture questions of your manuscript and feel ready to focus on finding the best ways to communicate those things with the reader?
Line editing takes a deep focus on language, word choice, sentence structure, and syntax. I will help you identify places where the language of your manuscript is singing and where it might benefit from more attention.
In most cases, I can provide multiple passes if needed. Sequential passes will have a lower rate.
Short Stories ($300 flat fee)
For single stories up to 5000 words, we’ll work together to help shape your story into the best standalone piece of fiction it can be. This includes all the elements for a developmental consultation + light line edits: in-line comments, editorial letter, and a 20-minute meeting for discussion and questions. If your story is longer than 5000 words, please let me know. We can usually work something out!
Coaching (ongoing, $150/session)
This option is good for writers who want help with accountability and feedback as they draft a larger project . You’ll share up to 15 pages of your work per month, along with a note with questions or thoughts you may have.
I’ll read your work in advance and write at least a page of editorial notes for you. Then we’ll have a 30 minute meeting to discuss what is working, areas of improvement, strategies, and the project’s overall direction. I may suggest exercises for you as well.
We can work together to establish longer intervals between deadlines and meetings. Depending on my availability, weekly deadlines and meetings may be an option too. If you’d like to book at least three sessions in advance, committing to writing and receiving feedback on up to 45 pages (or 6 sessions and up to 90 pages), let’s talk about a reduced rate.
